Just making sure on a couple of things, coil pack, msnsv3
hello. i am looking into getting the v3 of ms. i have haltech, but wanting to change over so i can control spark. will i bet able to run a gm coil pack with a 36-1 trigger wheel with ms? just clearing up a couple of questions. and i would like to run the aem wideband into ms, i can run that into it with one of the inputs that ms has right? thanks
Are you running Ford EDIS Ignition ?
The reason I ask is because it requires a 36-1 wheel and you said
that you had one .
The MS can get it's Tach signal from EDIS ,
It's what I run on my Chevy .
EDIS will run almost any Wasted Spark Coil , including GM Coils ,
because it has built in current limiting .
BUT....
Why don't you just get the entire EDIS setup from the junkyard ,
including the Coil Pack ? Makes the wiring that much easier .
MS can be adjusted for any WB O2 as long as you know what the
voltages are for a given AFR .

re
also, i have v1 with a v3 board
You have your nomenclature mixed up .
What you are thinking about getting is MS-II , with a V.3 Board .
(there is no MS V3)
The MS-II , V3 will work fine with EDIS , I don't know about MS-I .
There is a ton of info on the website about using EDIS ,
including wiring diagrams .

MS1 with the Extra software loaded will indeed control EDIS and has done since 2003.

What you need is a schematic diagram, for MSnS-extra EDIS they can be found here -

Pay special attention to the V3.0 sections, ignore the V2.2.
Also it helps to run shielded wires for PIP and Spout, also keep the low voltage wiring as far from the plug wires as possible.
