I may have pinned down my EDIS woes.

Post by Minami Kotaro »

I measured voltage on the SAW wire today.

It's supposed to have +5v, right?

It's got 11-18 volts, wildly fluctuating, on it.

I'm taking my SAW signal off x11 (S1 on the relay board) and my v2.2 board mods are done to the letter per the megasquirt.sf.net docs. The SAW wire (#3 on the module), is seperate from all other wires in my EDIS pigtail. So ... bad module?

Which end are you measuring? The Megasquirt end or EDIS end?

I measured from the S1 line to the #3 socket on the EDIS connector.

Hold on, that would be a problem on the MegaSquirt end, then.

Ok.

Dad and I tested the board and found five bad diodes and four bad capacitors. The bad diodes are in the power, input, and output circuits (Yikes!) and the bad capicitors are in the DB9 output.

Time for a visit to Radio Shack.

I also tested the U5. When running, between the two outside legs there is 12.5v. Between the middle leg and the right (when U5 is at the top) there is fluctuating 11-20+ volts. Between the middle leg and the left, there is around 5.5v.

(I may be confused on the left and right. My MegSquirt is mounted in the car "upside down".)
