MS II Constants? Injection Control

Post by yarin »

Here is a standard config screen from the MS II site

I'm installing MS II V3.0 on a '73 Porsche 914 (4cyl, port injection, 4 injectors, low impedence injectors, speed density). My required fuel came out to be around 13.

Do I want 2 or 4 Injections per cycle?
What about injector staging? Alternating or Simultaneous?
Even fire or odd fire? (i say even fire according to MS II documentation)

I have my injector banks setup as follows, correct?

INJ1 - Cyl 1, 3
INJ2 - Cyl 2, 4

This is the firing order of the dizzy:

I plugged into the calculator here:
http://www.megasquirt.info/v22manual/mfuel.htm
Disp 122 cubic inch, 4 cyl, 4 inj, 4 squirts, 24 lbs/hr, alternating, gas.

That gave me Req Fuel of 13.3ms and downloaded req fuel of 6.7. This satisfies the required fuel range of 6-15ms. So are these settings acceptable?

Thanks!

You may want to (not sure how) move this to the air/fuel section, this is ignition.

I'll try to answer you:
Do I want 2 or 4 Injections per cycle? On a stock motor with stock injectors you could probaly use either.

What about injector staging? Alternating or Simultaneous? See what works best. I am using simultaneous.

Even fire or odd fire? (i say even fire according to MS II documentation) This is not used for anything right now, so don't worry about it. I would bet it is even fire.

INJ2 - Cyl 2, 4
MS is batch fire so I don't think it means much. You can try different combinations to see if it changes how the engine runs.
