EDIS Trigger Wheel Question

Post by themoose »

Is it possible, with MSII, V 2.2 PCB, to run a 60-2 wheel or 58 tooth wheel instead of the 36-1 wheel? I'm in the process of gathering all the parts to switch over a BMW 2002 to FI and would like to know.

Thanks in advance!

The problem with doing this is that ford edis can run independently of megasquirt. The 36-1 wheel pattern is read by the ford edis module first and not MS. Megasquirt only takes the modified signal from the EDIS module for engine speed. Unless you can figure out how to modify the 60-2 wheel signal to read 36-1 to the ford edis module, you are going to need to use a 36-1 wheel.

Cool, thanks for the info! Just that it's turning into an endeavor to find a 3.5" trigger wheel without having to ship one in from England. If anyone knows of a place to get a 36-1 trigger wheel in the states please let me know!

Thanks!

If you can find a machine shop with a CNC, they could cut one for you pretty easily. They are not difficult to make at all.
