what kind of ignition system do i have?

Post by ProctorSilex »

i have a 2005 toyota 1nz-fe engine in my car. it's a small four cylinder. i have the electrical manual for it.

my manual shows four ignition coil/igniter units, each with four connections: IGT, IGF, +B, and ground.
it looks very similar to this, but this user, apparently, only has two:

what confuses me is how to connect such a system to the MS and what kind of MS i would need.

i think that an MS1 would require the MSnS-E while MS2 would be fine on its own.
i'm pretty certain that MS2 is the way to go.

i've been looking at the MS seriously for a few months now, but i'm still confused about a few things like this.

thanks

I can't say that I know what each wire does on your coils, but you have 4 coils. There is enough outputs on the V3 board to drive each coil. You could use either MSnSE or MS2 for that.
