Ignition advance on a twin not as it should be?

Post by jojje63 »

This might be solved in a later code but but since my dragbike now has a blowhead gasket I think I should ask before I spend more time and money on this if there is no fix.

I'm using a V3 and 029 on a 360deg twin, 28psi boost

crank trigger and both cyl fire every rev, amplified inductive PNP sensor (works like points would), wasted spark, triger return, 55deg trigger point, 1.5 ohm coil. tried 3-4ms dwell.

If I tune it so that 35deg in MS at 3000rpm is 35 in real life I have to set it to 45deg at 7000rpm to give me 35deg in real life, plus it missfires real bad.
Since this is a dragbike with no oil or water cooling system I can't keap it at 7000-9000rpm very long at a time so I haven't checked what the acctual dwell is at high revs.

Does anyone know if this is fixed in the latest code? I'm almost sure I'm not doing anything wrong since I have a few cars running the same code with no problems. The only difference is the sensor, but the signal is clean and it's good for 1000Hz

Thanks
/J
