I understand that MSD6A systems want a fixed dutycycle and i've been playing around with my ignition settings:
Max Spark Duration &
Max Dwell Duration
I have had them set at 25.5ms for each, but i've had on occasion my car just 'shut off' for no apparent reason and i'm trying to work out if it's a tach drop problem again or if my coil is being overheated somehow.
When touching the coil when the car is running the coil is VERY warm. It is an E-Core BlasterSS coil.
Another interesting thing i've noticed is that reducing max spark duration and max dwell duration to 12.0ms, the engine picks up RPM at idle significantly! About 120rpm to be exact.
I'm using the standard MSD6A settings as per the manual:
Input: Rising Edge
Cranking: Trigger Rise
Coil Charging: Standard Coil
Spark: Going Low (Normal)
Anyone have any input/feedback?
