Changing the timing

Post by gullwingmagazine »

I am running an MSII with an EDIS6 and have a question on ignition timing change.

The initial adv degree is set at 10. The trigger wizard shows 0 (big number) and 10 ( little number). If I want to advance the timing to 20 degrees btdc do I increase the value of the little number or decrease it? The engine is not yet running so I can only check the cranking timing which is at 10 btdc.

I want to confirm this before we try starting again. The first time we did damage to the flywheel from kickbacks of the engine during starting attempts.

Thanks for the help, Ron
