easyVR
I have built the easyVR circuit, and basically it doesn't work. I'm trying it straight on the car, the megasquirt and VR itself are both ok. Can anyone outline any troubleshooting procedure to follow?
So far i've checked the values of all componants, checked the layout and checked my wiring. I did have to use a few alternative componants, R3 was 2.2M not 2M, R9 was 330K not 300K - i didn't think it would matter too much? There must be something wrong, but i can't find it.
Any help or ideas would be much appriciated..

Did you use the schematic or the V3 BOM?
There is an explanation here...

... about half way down the page.
I only fitted one resistor before I noticed the problem.
Guy.

I'm using easyVR, as shown here

which i think is different to the v3 circuit on that link..

I'm assuming that the easyVR output can be used straight into pin 24 of a V2.2 db37, am i correct or is there more to it?
I've checked over the board again and all looks ok.. i'll have another go tomorrow and try to measure some of the voltages to compare with whats given on the microsquirt page..
I'm sure its something i'm missing in my understanding of how it works and what i'm expecting it to do..

I would have expected it to go straight to the CPU pin, but check first!rs2000 wrote:I'm assuming that the easyVR output can be used straight into pin 24 of a V2.2 db37, am i correct or is there more to it?
James
I can repair or upgrade Megasquirts in UK. http://www.jamesmurrayengineering.co.uk

James is correct. The output of the GPIO VR conditioner goes directly to the CPU pin.jsmcortina wrote:I would have expected it to go straight to the CPU pin, but check first!rs2000 wrote:I'm assuming that the easyVR output can be used straight into pin 24 of a V2.2 db37, am i correct or is there more to it?
I have personally used this circuit and confirmed it.
