Your constants must be set incorrectly. Make sure you have the right number of cylinders and four stroke.

Do the rpm indications on the front page of Megatune match that in Tuning->Realtime display ?

If Megatune gives you a signature error then you are asking for trouble, you must fix it before trying to use Megatune or the data sent to the Megasquirt is likely to be corrupted.

If, however, you are loading an older MSQ file that was created with 029i then you will be close but you must use the "review" feature to go over all settings.

Yes, the menus were re-arranged by 029q. If Megatune starts up without signature errors and shows the correct version at the top then you are ok.

Double check your settings, I've never heard of anyone showing twice the rpm before.

Also, as you are just starting, grab 029q2 as it has the default temp sensor tables. 029q had the wrong ones in error.
OR, grab 029r (test) which resolves a problem I had with poor crank rpm pickup.

Check the fuel table selection menu, you should have injector 1 and 2 running from table 1 and GammaE should be on.

Are you using 029q or 029q2 ?
029q had an error in the supplied air temp sensor table causing rich running, 029q2 has this back to normal.

The MSQs are identical between the two.

You can only download firmware while connected to the Megasquirt.

Changing from 029q to 029s "should" be as simple as:
save your settings in Megatune
close Megatune
double-click on download-firmware and answer a few questions*
open Megatune
reload your settings

James

*are you upgrading from standard Megasquirt code" say N and life will be easier with no case apart and messing with boot jumper
