Missing above 1500 RPM

Post by Chrisfol82 »

Got my MSII v3 running a little while ago. Im using MSII high current circuit to control my timing. Its a straigt 6 using HEI dist with coil on cap distributor.

Everythign seems perfect at Idle but when i try to rev it up over 1500 RPM i get hesistation and missing. Ive tried richening it, leaning it, increasing the advance, decreasing the advance. I cant seem to get it to run steady over about 1500 RPM.

Any other info neede just ask. Any advice owuld be greatly appreciated.

Have you put a timing light on it to make sure you are getting advance?

Yeah i found out thwat the problem was. On my HEI coil on cap Dist, theres the ground tab in the middle of the three tabs. I didnt have the ground connected to anything. It was just arching off whatever it could find to ground itself. So i grounded that tab and now it runs alot smoother.
