Remote mounting the VB921

Post by TPI 85 Blazer »

Anybody have experience with mounting the VB921 in the distributor or at the coil pack(s)? I was thinking that with my HEI, this little IC could mount inside the dizzy and use it as a heatsink, just like the stock ignition module. This could greatly reduce noise in the system and would really be a lot like using the 7-pin HEI module with MS.

Beware that while it will reduce switching noise, the signal wire from CPU to VB921 acts like an aerial and can pickup lots of nasty noise to interfere with the CPU.
