Question about EDIS wheel

Hi i am running a MS2 version 3.0 and and using the edis4 setup. From the edis page on megasquirt.info i palced my sensor where i understood it shoudl be placed. From my understanding of the page the sensor should be placed 9 teeth before the missing tooth with the motor at TDC of cylinder 1, correct? I was wondering if anybody can confirm my placement because when i crank i only get 150 rpm into megasquirt and it seems low. Please see the picture attached. Thanks for any replies.

You look to have put the sensor 9 teeth _after_ the missing tooth.
However, fear not, just swap the pairs of plug leads over.

(VR sensor placement has no effect on rpm shown though.)

Ive just set mine up like the photo (except for v

, I looked at both ms2 and extra documentation, and the pictures both show the same thing, apart from the fact that the MS2 picture is "shown from the back".

Extra says: Set your engine at TDC, then put the missing tooth SPECIFIC-ANGLE/10 teeth ahead of the sensor
or
MS2 says: EDIS-8: missing tooth is exactly five teeth (50°) ahead of the VR sensor.

I took the word "Ahead" to mean in front of, which in that context agrees with the diagrams.

Well, my car comes with edis 4 and it's on the same side as your guy's pictures, but it's higher up. More like at the 9 or 10 o'clock position. The crank spins in the same rotation direction too, clock wise. By the way I like your wheel too Eliot, where did you get it from, or make it?

Edit: I just looked in manual and it shows 5 teeth ahead of the missing tooth and it looks like mine! The pictures rotation is different than mine, counter clockwise.

one more edit:
EDIS-4: missing tooth is exactly nine teeth (90°) ahead of the VR sensor,
EDIS-6: missing tooth is exactly six teeth (60°) ahead of the VR sensor,
EDIS-8: missing tooth is exactly five teeth (50°) ahead of the VR sensor.

Im going to see how mine looks when I get home from work.

The wheel is a standard ford part (Part Number 1078767) about £12 in the UK and the crank sensor pt # is 6740816.
This is the second one ive done using the same technique of machining a 2mm shoulder on the damper - the other one was for the rover v8 with serpentine pulley:

I checked with my mate and his wheel is aligned like mine, so i guess it correct then?

Yeah, I think my previous advice was back to front (well it was technically accurate, just that the question the poster asked was back to front...)

Either way with EDIS4 it doesn't matter a lot because you can swap the wires over. With EDIS6 and EDIS8 it DOES matter though.

Great!, As i had already drilled and fitted the dowel pin to the damper!
