MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
So I had the sequential shift lights working with my old MS1 V2.2 setup just fine. Now I would like to get them up and working on my MS2 V3 setup. The hardware isn't the problem, but i'm having some troubles with the logic tables in Megatune to get the to LED's to light correctly. I am using using PM4 and PM5 for outputs.
Has anyone pulled this off and willing to lend a hand?
TIA

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
The current MS2 firmware doesn't allow the "gap" in the logic that the MS1 sequential shift lights used; you'd need 3 separate outputs to make it work.

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
I came up with this circuit a while back; it hasn't been tested. You have two outputs, A and B. A has a low ON and a high OFF set point; say, 6000 and 6500. B comes on and stays on at the middle rev point; call it 6300.
Output 'A' goes on at 6000, and the first LEDs come on with it. Output 2 goes at 6300, activating the second LEDs. The third LEDs are being shorted by Q1, so they don't come on. At 6500 A turns off; the third LEDs are no longer shorted out, and the entire bank is on.
Edit - revised schematic further down

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
Isn't D7 the wrong way around?

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
It allows Q2 to turn on D1 & D2, while preventing Q1 from turning on the others. This allows D1 and D2 to stay on when Q1 turns off.

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
Ok but that also means that Q2 shorts D5 and D6. And D7 will make D1 and D2 dimmer when Q1 turns off.

For the second point - true, but I don't think it will be that much (19.4 mA vs 18.2 mA, assuming 13.2v and a Vf of 0.8v).
First point ... Hrm. I need to think about that one ...

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
Ok - try that again. As before, assume Pin A turns on at 6000, off at 6500; Pin B turns on at 6300.
6000 rpm - Pin A turns on the stage 1 LEDs via Q1, and shorts the stage 3 LEDs via Q2.
6300 rpm - Pin B turns on the stage 2 LEDs via Q3; the stage 3 LEDs remain off.
6500 rpm - Pin A turns off; all LEDs are on.
Edit - schematic deleted, corrected version attached below - diode added

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
Digging up this thread because I wanted to try this circuit out.
I don't understand how this can work. What prevents the 2nd stage to come on when the first stage is activated?
They're parallel, so they would just come on together at the same time.
Don't you need a diode or so between stage 1 and 2? But then you have a voltage drop when the first transistor is off.

Ah, nuts. Revised schematic attached, diode added ...
The annoying part is, I KNOW this discussion has happened before. Somehow my notes got lost, and an older version got posted. *sigh*

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
That's what I figured
Gonna try with a 1N5817 to minimize the voltage drop.

Re: MS2 V3 Sequential shift lights
El diagrama mostrado anteriormente funciona?
Alguien porfavor me podría indicar como es la configuración en Tuner Studio?
Gracias
