MegaSquirt Meet 2009

Postby FoundSoul » Thu Jan 22, 2009 12:59 pm

It's winter... but spring is coming, and that means the MegaMeet is coming too. April 18th is the date this year, same weekend as last year (17th-19th are the full dates). Location is again here in Suwanee, GA at DIYAutoTune HQ.

As always there will be new and upcoming hardware and software to sneak a peek at, and news on what else is coming. Yes new things have been coming together... and you'll get a chance to see some of it.

And who knows what else... anyone got something fun to bring? Bring it on.... Just don't attract the police ;). (Yes, somebody did last year, tore out of here in a 240sx with spark cut rev limiter and a way rich tune, bouncing it off the rev limiter. Extra fuel in the exhaust + spark cutting in and out with the spark cut limiter = POP POP POP POP! Cops rolled in looking for somebody with an automatic weapon, they were serious too ;).

It's almost a sure thing I'll have traded my current 4WD little Dynapack for a 2WD DynaPack 4000 in the next month or so... so you Turbo Mustang guys that maxxed my little dyno last year.... bring it on ;).

I've got the hotel information with a group rate on the rooms, and went ahead and put a web page together for quick reference to all needed info - hotel / travel / directions / and a rough schedule.

http://www.diyautotune.com/events/megameet_2009.htm

Note that you must grab up a room prior to March 27th or they'll release our block of rooms. All the details at the link above.

unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year as I'll be out the the country that weekend... Hopefully they'll be a summer event or a northeastern event this year.

Wow, this looks like it'd be really cool. I wish I could make it, but the date is in the middle of finals and lab work. :( maybe next year

I don't think we've ever had one in Europe.

In any case, James will probably be flying over from the UK, and we've had Phil over too before.

I exchanged a few ideas about an informal UK Megasquirt meet for 2008, but we didn't take it any further. Perhaps mid 2009?

If I get there early, can someone help me finish my EAE tuning?

Thanks!
Hopefully I can finally get enough in focus to help with documentation.

I will be there, probably bringing 3-4 people with me this time (all but one will be bringing a squirted car). Hopefully my Rx-7 project will be running by then as well.

I've still not decided if I'll bring my rx7 or just fly.

The rx7 runs great, but has an oil leak and needs new rear brakes.

Hmm... mine has an oil leak too. I think I'll replace the valve cover gasket this weekend (which involves Timeserts in the bolt holes due to some jackleg previous owner)

The least I can do is not leave an oil slick in DIY's parking lot :D

Your offer to help with EAE is enough for me to make the drive

Ken, if you have love for the wankel, you will likely not be happy with my Rx-7. :D I couldn't even be normal and put a v-8 in my piston powered rx.

Add a new alternator and replacement of all the coolant hoses to the list...

I guess this is what happens when you let a car sit for so long.
