This topic is very old, but I would like to add one thing, I like all and I have the same problems discussed here, one thing I can think of, just is silly but for me it has some logic.

In equation fuel thinks the amount of air, but only acts in the combustion oxygen, which is + - 20% of total air. Not the same make a correction on air 100% on 20% oxygen, for example a 10% correction for 100% air is 10%, but 10% on 20% oxygen is only 2%.

My English is very bad, as summarized explain that I can, it's just an idea that can be tested or not.

0% on the MAT graph means the internal algorithm value applies at that temp and 100% meaning that which is calculated by the internal MAT algorithm. So 10% means the internal value is calculated but the result is increased by 10% at that value of MAT.
