Hi all.
I am building an universal harness for use on a engine dyno. It will be used with several engine management systems, but I guess that will not effect the answer to my question..
I have used the wiring harnesses for ms3 supplied from diyautotune because of the nice markings on the wires.
I have made the + feed wire for the injectors and coils (logic level triggered) 0,75mm2 wires, I guess that should correspond to gauge 20-21.
It should be the same size as provided in the harness, since that size is given and the current have to go through that wire, wiring with greater size wires on the + feed would not give any advantages, would it?
It is wired as sequential, so one + feed per injector / coil. I see the ms2 wire harness comes with two thicker wires for injectors, but I guess that is because they should be coupled to several injectors?
Would there be any problems with this wire sizes?

Wire sizes?

Re: Wire sizes?
20AWG/0.75mm diameter wire will work fine for this purpose. If there's one power wire per injector, you're correct that they don't need to be any larger than the control wires.
Re: Wire sizes?
Thank you, now I can continue the wiring with no worries..
Re: Wire sizes?
What size wires are suitable for injectors, sensors, and igniters?

Re: Wire sizes?
Using larger wires will have zero negligible effects. When deciding between two wire sizes always err on the side of the larger wire.
There are charts available to find the right size wire for the application based on the voltage, current and length of wire.
