Toyota COP wiring confusion
I'm trying to wire in a set of Toyota Corolla '99-'08 coils, pn: 90080-19015 and the pinout that the TurboBrick's guys have is
Toyota wiring harness colors:
1-ground (brown)
2-trigger (color varies)
3-tach (blue with yellow stripe)
4-V+ (black with white stripe)
With a MS3 with MS3X, the Tach and Trigger wires have me lost on where they need to go. I told the guy that built my MS3 that I was going to run the Toyota COPS and he sent me the diagram on LS1 coils and with the diagram 4 individual loose wires to run to each coil and 1 coil signal return. I initially thought to run all the tach wires from each coil together and back to the signal return and each trigger wire to each corresponding coil, but I don't want to screw this us.

Re: Toyota COP wiring confusion
See what others think, but my instinct would be to leave the "Tach" wire unconnected and connect the "Trigger" wire to the MS3X.

Re: Toyota COP wiring confusion
Ah, I got in contact with someone that has the same setup and said the samething you said, just leave the tach wire alone. Now I've got to find stand offs for the MS3X board to hold it and figure out if I can leave the spark outputs wired thru the MS3 or if I need to run them to the MS3X.
Re: Toyota COP wiring confusion
The MS3X card has stand offs and extra 40 pin spacers for the base provided in the kit.
Use the MS3X card it is wired for individual coils.

Re: Toyota COP wiring confusion
Weird, my MS3X card only came with an extra DB37 connector and no stand offs.

The MS3 card has standoffs. The MS3X card does not.

I use them on my Miata. Tach is left unconnected. 12V is switched, GND is ground(ok) and the trigger goes to MS2 to IGN (X) where X is the number of cylinder.

Firing order - coil on plug
e.g. on a 4 cyl engine with 1342 firing order SpkA = 1, SpkB = 3, SpkC = 4, SpkD = 2

Thanks guys, you're making this less intimidating.
