ms3 pro & E85 - 87, 89, 91, 93 octane + E85 sensor tuning?
Does the MS3 Pro allow use of a flex fuel sensor where it will automatically alter fuel and ignition when switching between 87 thru 93 octane pump gas and E85?

sorry i know the ms3 info says this:
but i was more specifically wondering if you could could modify these tables to react how you program it for the varying fuel types... sorry if this is a dumb question im pretty new to these standalone units.
Flex fuel sensor input for easy switching between gasoline and E85 - can automatically change fuel, ignition, and boost maps based on ethanol content of gasoline

No sensor exists AFAIK for what grade of pump gas you are mixing with the ethanol...
Given that even garbage grade E70 is still probably ~110 octane equivalent... the small% of gasoline probably makes for a fairly insignificant effect unless you are DIY blending E100 with C16 or such.
(If you actually NEED 130 octane blended racing fuel, you are watching the wrong sensor anyway, watch for knock)
It blends between two sets of settings (gas<>E85) or 2 VEtables (gas<>E85) based on the ethanol %.
(The sensor measures percentage of ethanol)
the simple setup changes reqfuel and timing using the std tables and adds or subtracts a programmable % based on ethanol %.
The fancier setup blends between VE1 table and VE3. (where VE1 is gasoline and VE3 is E85 or E100 if you prefer)
E85 is very forgiving at least in NA use for mixture and timing.
I actually have pulled some timing @WOT running ~E70, my motor is not knock limited at all on regular pump gas. (E10)
(didn't pull it due to knock, it pulls harder and smoother with less timing on e70, which is all I apparently can get around here)

It can't detect what gas type you mixed in, but it can monitor the alcohol percentage. There's two ways you can handle this. You can have a basic "adjust x amount of fuel and y amount of spark timing for every z percent more ethanol" or you can use the table blending to have two completely different fuel and spark maps based on ethanol percentage.

VE1 could be my pump gas custom tune table, VE3 could be my E85 custom table? Is VE1 just the fueling table? I would need it to blend the fueling and timing tables depending on the % of ethanol right? Also could I have it also blend a boost table where the ethanol percent will adversely change the boosting amount?piledriver wrote: It blends between two sets of settings (gas<>E85) or 2 VEtables (gas<>E85) based on the ethanol %.

Correct, now you see the power of it.Also could I have it also blend a boost table where the ethanol percent will adversely change the boosting amount?

I would basically just use this to set it up?
how would one go about blending boost tables based on ethanol content?

Good you found it, I saw a "let me find that for you in the manual" coming.
