I am planning to convert to BIP373.
Wonder how well must they protected from water and dirt.
I intend to place them in engine bay.
Thanks
How well must BIP373(ignition driver) be protected?

Well you don't want to get them dirty or wet. I have mine in a small metal enclosure kind of water resistant, but not water proof.. If It was to see a lot of water and dirt I would probably pot them in the enclosure.
Find the Manuals up top under Quick links: Manuals.

The BIP itself is pretty rugged, but it has 4 bare conductors (3 pins + tab) hanging out for the squirrels to munch on. Any sort of shorting or grounding from one pin to the other will screw up the operation of your ignition, and quite possibly destroy your coils.

Perhaps consider the QuadSpark from DIYautotune - 4x BIP373 already potted.
