MS2 Programmable Outputs

Post by alftuning »

Hi everyone!

I'm triying figure my cooling fan in the programmable outputs area but i can't find the correct form to this. I'm using the JS3, IAC2. With this setup my fan turns ON when the car start. I cant find a fan area to work with the ON temp and OFF temp. Thanks for the help!

You have the output set to be on as soon as you power up the Megasquirt and turn off when the temperature is reached.
i.e. you have
"Power On Value" = "On"
"Active Value" = "Off"

I would suggest you want:
"Power On Value" = "Off"
"Active Value" = "On"

This is mentioned in the manual : http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/Meg ... 3-146.html

If i change values the fan turns ON all the time. The only form to maintain the fan OFF when i open the power switch is with a 20.0 of hysteresis, and "Power On Value" = "On" / "Active Value" = "Off". I dont know what cause this. Thanks!

The on/off thing is because you've wired up the wrong "half" of IAC2. It will work as you have it wired and set though.

When ProgOut 'IAC2' is ON, pin IAC2A is at +12v while IAC2B is at GND. When IAC2 is OFF, IAC2A is at GND while IAC2B is at +12v. Like James said, you can leave it alone and revise your settings appropriately, OR, you can move your wire to JS2 and have more straightforward settings.
