Megasquirting a Chevrolet Suburban '94 K2500 5.7
Hi all!
I have been looking into changing from the TBI to a TPI inlet setup for my Chevy truck.
I see that there now is a ability to control automatic transmissions available. But at first I would only like to change the control of the engine.
Do anyone know these cars and know if this is possible or not? Retaining the stock ecu for the trans and install ms for the engine?
I guess some sensors, tps, rpm and so forth are needed to be able to use the trans - but I have not done any specific research into this yet.
Or - is the transmission control considered "good enough" for it to be easier for me doing the whole swap right away?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated..!

What gearbox is this? 4L60E, 4L80E are readily supported using a Microsquirt for gearbox control. Lockup on 700R4 is supported within MS3.

Thank you. I need to go underneath and have a look - but I think it is a 4L80E.
The gearshifter is that just a electric switch or is something actually mechanical connected to the transmission?
The car also have cruise control - not something I use a lot, I guess that will be gone..
I have a MS3X I want to use.

The GM trans are still mostly hydraulic transmissions with gear shift partly determine by the electronics. The selector is still connected and does a lot of the work.

Re: Megasquirting a Chevrolet Suburban '94 K2500 5.7
I have looked a bit at the transmission controller now - am I understanding it correctly that I need to be using a MS standalone just as a controller, with its own separate set of sensors?
I do have a MS2 3.57 spare, but also, do I understand it correctly that if I buy a Microsquirt V3 I can use it without any internal modifications?

One ECU controls the engine. A second ECU controls the transmission, but shares data (RPM, TPS, MAP) over CAN. No duplicate sensors are needed.
Yes, the Microsquirt V3 can be used with no internal modifications. The MS2 V357 could be used but requires a number of modifications.

Ok, thank you. I will look further into it - read through the manual last night, seems interesting!
