Website updates

Post by jsmcortina »

Some of you may have noticed a refresh of the main website. http://www.msextra.com/index.php (Click Refresh in your browser if you don't see a change.)

The changes aren't completed yet and the Downloads page needs migrating to the new style.

Please report any suggestions for improvement or usability issues here.

Not really a functionality issue, but my opinion is a picture of the MS3-Pro would be better if it were of the MS3-Pro and not of the box. Otherwise, quite nice and I do like the links at the top to go to the manuals or forum.

Well done!
Lots of information on the forum page before links through. Should help prime new users.

What computer, operating system and web-browser ?

Works ok for me in Firefox and Chrome, but it seems that Internet Explorer 6 doesn't work with it.

Try now... I believe I fixed it. (There was a circular divert going on.)

Very nice, i think it has a less intimidating 'feel' to a person who is unfamiliar with the MS product.

there have been 3 changes that i think will expand the customer base of the MS product- the .pdf manual, this site, and the MS3 pro that has a more mainstream appearance. overall less intimidating

James,

I have a vague memory of being able to access a firmware archive section on the site before it was updated. Now, the 'Downloads' section only seems to offer current releases. I've poked about for an hour and I cannot find the old releases I'm looking for (which are MS3Extra 1.3.3, 1.3.2, 1.3.1). Specifically, I just need the definition files for these releases to update the MSDroid server.

Thanks

I'll email you those six ini files.

James

PS. there is no MS3 "extra" - it's just MS3.

James, could you please consider reinstating the archive of old firmwares, perhaps with restricted access if deemed necessary?

Though the MSDroid server has the .ini files for most historical firmwares now, and I have a decent collection of fimrware .zip archives for testing, there is the odd occasion when I need to find the .zip for a particular old firmware. I'd rather not have to rely on emailing you whenever I would like something.

The archive was never intended to be complete and it wasn't. Are there any particular releases you want?
