Houston Mini-Mega-meet June 6, 2015

We have been kicking around the idea of a meet in Houston here: http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 34&t=58063

I have talked with Powerfab Automotive on FM1960 in NW Houston and they are willing to book Saturday, June 6 for us, 9am-4pm. I stopped by for the first time yesterday and they have a nice shop and some very cool and different projects. I am planning to smoke some BBQ and do it up picnic-style in the parking lot. We'll be bringing tables and chairs.

The dyno will be available for us all day for some pulls. Please make sure your car is good to go and isn't going to leak on their dyno, etc. Price per 3 pulls will be very reasonable.

Please reply here or send me a PM with whether you'll be coming so we can get a head count for food & distributing dyno time. Friends and family welcome! I'll be bringing my wife and a few friends.

My wife and I are about 80% on coming at this point. Trying to see if I can swing a couple of days of PTO so my wife and I can do our own thing before the Saturday meet.

Any updates? My buddy is planning to bring his Cobra from Dallas. If we need more people, I bet I could get a few other Cobras, but they would be carbed.

Ok he said it should be around 40.00 for 3 pulls. And there should be around 20-25 people there so far with a few non-ms'ers to hang out and see projects.

My wife and I are thinking of coming down there a couple of days early to see the area, etc...

Can someone who knows the area PM me with suggestions of things to do, and places to eat, decent hotel near the dyno shop, etc?

OK trip booked. Coming in Thu afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. Someone hook me up with some good restaurants or anything interesting to do/see for the days when we're not at the meet!

Hit up Pappasitos for some legit tex-mex. their beef fajitas are unbeatable. If you want to make the drive you could check out Hennessy out west i haven't been there but i would assume they have a show room.

What hotel you staying at?

You may have to drive a bit for some of the things to do, not sure what you have in mind. NASA does tours, there's the outlet mall in Cypress, Old Town Spring, the horse track is nearby, Galveston is an hour and a half away if you're into beaches, just don't go with any expectations.

I assume you're staying in Willowbrook area? If not maybe 290? My wife and I like to go to Pappadeaux on 1960 for a decent seafood dinner.

Also if your into soccer Houston has a MLS team called Dynamo and they have a game June 5th at 8pm

We are in the Willowbrook area yeah. My wife looked up a bunch of places too, so it looks like we will have plenty to do.

We're still afloat!

I have confirmed dates and recruited some helpers for cooking
Let's plan on $50 for 3 dyno pulls + some good BBQ
or a small contribution for a plate of food to help me cover cost.
