Re: Timing Light reading 70 degrees

I just checked an MSQ (tune) I have saved from an LS4 which uses the 60-2 (58X) wheel on the crank. That is using 76 degrees for tooth#1 angle.

Ok well i just wanted to follow up...

My engine was some how running at 70 degrees timing...

Once i got the engine up to temp
i adjusted the tooth #1 angle slowly while playing with the gas pedal to keep it from dieing.

Once i got to 84 degrees on the tooth #1 both my timing lights were reading exactly what i was setting the fixed timing to.

Now my engine idles a 850 rpm and not 1500 and its alot more tolerable as far as the idle exhaust noise.

Now right when i put it in gear and try to drive i have to give it a ton of gas to keep it from dieing.

I didnt actually drive it cause i didnt want to keep starting the car over and over again with out giving the starter a chance to cool.

Now i guess i have to play around with the fuel tables to give it more fuel when idling so it doesn't keep dieing

Now might be a good time to post your most current msq and log, I think. I suspect you can get some help with your fueling.

Glad to see you got the timing straightened out! :yeah!:
