trigger bmw e30m3

Post by red-racing »

Im thinking about ms2extra on a bmw s14 engine.
I have read that the original trigger will not work.
original is counting the starters teeth and a refrence tooth. (early bosch motronic)
Why cant I use dual wheel on this one? crank speed the second wheel?

How many teeth are on the flywheel? MS3 can do flywheel triggering, but currently only supports 130 or 132 flywheel teeth.

AFAIK 116 teeth. And one separate ref tooth for tdc (2 separate sensors in bellhousing)

The code can't handle that number of teeth.

Here's one way you can use MS2 on these motors: https://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac--- ... p1609.aspx

I installed a custom 13cm 60-2 wheel back on crankwheel. used sensor from flywheel on custom mounting.

But should be an easy task to make trigger routine for this engine?

60-2 would use the standard missing-tooth option; no custom wheel decoder is needed.
