version differences

Post by trtinker6 »

Please advise me on this dillema: MegaSquirt PNP Gen2 Map Index shows two columns for base maps for Ford.
Mustang 5.0 and Thunderbird with MS2E v3.2.1 or v 3.3.1a
Mustang 94-95 5.0 with MS2E v 3.2.1 or v 3.3.1a
I assume the remainder of the identification differentiates the two engines, and I will have to determine which
one my build matches closer, but what is the significance of the two versions? will either work with the latest
firmware, or is one better suited.
Many Thanks,
Dennis

The main difference between the Fox body and the SN95 tunes are that the SN95 tunes have the cooling fan outputs enabled.

Thanks Matt, can you tell me about the version 3.2.1 vs. 3.3.1a?
Thanks!
Dennis
Oh wait, I think I may understand! The v 3.2.1 is for an earlier firmware, and with my v 3.4.2 firmware, I should use the v 3.3.1a-no?

Wonder if this thread would help me with my 88 FOX DIYPNP F60 getting errors due to firmware not matching the base tune.
My firmware is the latest - 3.4.2 Could I start with the SN95 base tune? If yes, where is it?

PS: I wanted to add cooling fan control anyway!

thanks, (another) Dennis

Yes, the MSPNP tune may need a bit less tweaking than the DIYPNP tunes at this point. You can get them here:
