MS1 Spark Issue on Mazda Rotary

Hi Guys,

This is my first ever forum post Been struggling for a few weeks to get my car started and I suspect I have a random spark signal but am not 100% Need some advice from the team

Car wont actually start. Sounds like it wants to go but just wont quite go. I appear to be getting intermittent spart on my timing light and when the timing light flashes it is on the correct timing mark and is also when I hear the engine fire.

Here's what I have;
MS1 with 029y4a firmware loaded
12a Bridgeport
4 x 550cc injectors (the oval plug ones from a series 5 turbo RX7)
4 x IGN-1A for spark

Wires that go to pin A (signal) on the coils are.... The thick red one goes to both leading and the other two go to the trailing coil signals respectively.


Can someone please confirm I have all this correct?

Currently I have only connected the leading plug leads as I think it should start and run fine on those and then once running I will confirm the trailing firing order and connect those up. (if only I could get it running)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Normally I'd use the circuit with pull ups instead of inline resistors. Use a 330 ohm pull up resistor. When using pull ups and triggering off the negative terminal of the LED, set spark output inverted to No.

Thanks heaps for the reply, is there a wiring diagram somewhere for that, I've had a look and can't seem to find it?

I just want to make sure I don't mess it up
