Bought a used V2 3.57

Post by NBraun »

Hi there,

I'm very new to all this and i'm a little lost to be honest. I ended up buying a used megasquirt v2 with the 3.57 board and 3.1.1 firmware. It supposedly was used to run a 2jz, and i want to run a turbo LS. Will i be able to run it? I've found threads of people that have to go through and change the jumpers for distributers and what not and really just want to make sure.

Thanks!

I'd personally go for V3 board. The construction of that makes it easier to repair or modify.

Sorry - missed the bit you'd already bought it. :D

Will i be able to run it?
Yes! You might want someone with experience to set it up correctly or you may choose to do that yourself and learn in the process.

Yes.

Do read the MS2/V3.57 Hardware Manual.

I'm a little confused. It says to turn one of the resistor pots 7 turns anti clockwise. What is the starting point? There doesn't seem to be a point where it stops.

There are no stops on the pots. There is a little release clip inside that you may hear or feel "click" at each end of the travel, but that is all; the screw will keep turning without limit in either direction. Those are 7-turn pots, so turning seven turns (or more, won't hurt!) ensures it is at the end of its travel, no matter where it started at. That's what you are looking for, full CCW.
