I have an bmw m60 b40 in my 99 740iL. Was interested in the swap to avoid the timing chain rebuild on a TU engine.
I now have an ITB set up with custom manifold adapters to mount the S62 throttle bodies. So for the sake of answering questions later I will give the set up as I have it.
98 740i harness dme, ews and sensors to run the 5 hp24 trans.
Cam sensor adaptation from magnetic to hall effect.
What do I need to get the ITB's running?

what ecu were you planing on running? does your auto box require any input from the stock dme to work?

Tuning ITBs is fun. I strongly recommend the MS3 Ultimate setup for new installs like this. Start the motor on pure Speed Density but you will most likely need to go to more elaborate tuning later.
Does this motor have fixed valve timing or is it a VVT motor?
Have fun.

Not sure which ecu. The dme was pulled from a 98 as I mention and it has the hall effect sensor off the loom to read the ring gear on the trans.grom_e30 wrote:what ecu were you planing on running? does your auto box require any input from the stock dme to work?
