Newbie to MS and have questions.

Post by Ster302 »

Hey everyone, First time posting here. First off, the engine is a 4.6 4v B head engine with a turbonetics T72 open downpipe. The injectors are SD 60lb'ers wired to the MS2 with both banks wired in to pair (blue wires to bank 1 and green to bank 2) I have PWM current limiting turned off and dead time at .9 in TS settings. The coil setup is LS1 coils with the FET method on the proto area and wired in pairs for wasted spark, of course. First time turning the key it fired up and ran but it's incredibly rich 9.4-9.8, I've been playing around with wue and the ve table but nothing has changed!? I'm staring to think it may be the way I wired my injectors or I have some setting off somewhere else, I'm just afraid off running it so long with afr so fat and. I'm have not been able to data log anything since I'm dealing with a turbo leaking oil into the exhaust (drain back issues). Any help is appreciated.

Kind of sounds like your injecting at every cycle instead of alternating. Others will ask to see tune so best attach to this thread for help.

My engine and sequential settings are:
Required fuel=6.2
Control algorithm=speed density
Squirts per cycle=2
Injector staging=alternating
Engine stroke=4 stroke
No. Of cylinders=8
Number of injectors=8
Engine type=even fire
Engine size=4654cc
Injector sizing=630cc
Seq. Injection=seq./semi-seq. Injection
Timing trigger=start-of-pulse
Fixed timing or table=fixed timing
Injection timing 1=90 deg
Cranking Injection 1=90 day
Ve trim tables=don't use ve trim tables
Injector drivers=standard drivers

I went off of the the diyautotune site and megamanual for my initial setup.

Always use the manuals linked from "Manuals" above. What you've been reading is perhaps out of date.

Have you tried generating a VE table using the TS tools. Usually gives a decent starting point.

Fix known problems, then move onto unknowns.

Since you have oil getting into the exhaust, this can cause incorrect readings by the O2 sensor, and/or damage the sensor.

Have you verified that the WBO2 sensor is working correctly?

I used tuner studio to build the VE table. Im using a mtx-l wideband, so I used the generic linear wideband selection and used the two voltage points, The wide band gauge seems to match TS gauge with the vehicle off and running.
