I need to pick up some wire covering and have used the Flexo brand covering before, but then I noticed this https://www.techflex.com/prod_cnn.asp
Looking on line it goes for ~ $2.00-$2.30 a foot which could get a bit pricey, but if it really protects against RFI seems like it would be worth it. I was thinking of using it to wrap my crank and cam sensor wiring, coil wiring and then the MS harnesses inside the vehicle.
Worth It?

Looks good, but I do not see RFI protection in the specs, did I miss it?Drew442 wrote:I was thinking of using this

I don't see any figures on how much it protects against RFI.Raymond_B wrote:I need to pick up some wire covering and have used the Flexo brand covering before, but then I noticed this https://www.techflex.com/prod_cnn.asp

Yeah, I poked around on their website and they give all kinds of info, except for that... If the wiring loom did protect from RFI would it not need to be grounded?LAV1000 wrote:I don't see any figures on how much it protects against RFI.Raymond_B wrote:I need to pick up some wire covering and have used the Flexo brand covering before, but then I noticed this https://www.techflex.com/prod_cnn.asp

Re: Worth It?
Lets put it this way.
If I know there is a change that RFI messes up something I use screened wire and not this plastic sleeve whit some carbon in it.
I know there are plastic foils which do work this way, but they are used on data cables.
These are mostly used in a total different in environment.
On the other hand they put a nice list whit it for resistance to chemicals.
If I want to use it I'd select it on the chemical resistance, not the carbon RFI issue.
