Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
Help needed.
I plan to make Youtube tuning videos to share what I have learned over the years. I have a registered website but there is nothing there at this point.
I need a favor, Here is a sample video https://youtu.be/q4SwNcPr5Cs
Please hit the subscribe button so I can get to 100 subscribers and register a youtube channel with the same name.
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Subscriber nr. 14 reporting!
I didn't realise you could get a custom URL for your YT-channel. I have 533 subscribers so just had a look at the settings.
I did know however that my channel could always be visited with https://www.youtube.com/user/BigBlockMopar
Maybe your channel can be visited like this too someway Andy?

Re: Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
HEHE I noticed that once I got home. I have the ability to screen capture now. These will get better as I work thru the details.
Here is the list of subjects I want to take on..... This list will change with time.
TS topics-
Learn to data log wile testing gauges and sensors.
Data rates, picking fields to log.
When is a light on the dash worth it?
Log every time.
Locating your COM ports on a Windows 10, Windows 7, XP
Ways to measure power without a dyno
Setting up standard views
Setting up CAN
Updating Firmware
Backdating Firmware (just in case)
Setting up a new project when something goes very wrong in an existing tune.
Going back to an old project.
How to go about calibrating added sensors (accelerometers for example). Fuel Pressure…
Recover your lost MLV And Tuner Studio License
Startup AFR vs AFR for fuel economy,
CAN network and setting up a Microsquirt as a CAN extended input device
Gear charts
GPS as a speed input
TS plugins, how they work and what they do.
Tuning topics-
Time based AE VS Accel Pump
Setup a “first try” SD tune from the default tune
First start. Warm up
Data rates and smoothing
Generic PWM to control all sorts of things
Standard Air, VE and req fuel
Basic Definitions, MAP, MAT, MAF, Map…..
Duty Cycle, PW, Max Allowable DC, Injector limits.
Fuel equation
Is 13 AFR really the correct answer?
MAF vs SD vs AN vs ITB vs Blended table
Why are there so few base tunes?
What is duty cycle and what is too much DC
Setup topics-
Testing with a stim
CEL setup
Test modes and wiring verification
Basic gauge value verification
Sensor calibration, TPS, wideband, temp sensors
AFR calibration to YOUR wideband
What to do if the motor does not start. Composite logging…
Be sure to check BAT
Fuel Pressure, RRFPR
Why do we need AE? What is AE? What about DE?
External CAN devices, CAN EGT, Trans controller.
Advance Tuning topics-
Flat shift setup, Two step launch control
Anti-lag
Explain Dead Time, what is it?
Do I really need a TPS?
If running ITB, do I need MAP?
PID if I can describe it in English
Traction control Perfect pass
Engine codes
Rev Limiters, Hard Cut vs Soft Cut ignition vs fuel cut
MAPxRPM
Moving your break points
Blended tuning, tips tricks and traps
Boost control Basic and typical throttle based How and why it works
AE DE reality check. Tuning AE to get lightning throttle response
Pressure ratio, MAP/Exhaust Pressure as a load Axis option
Hemholt resonators and why you just screwed up your tune
DBW advantages
ITB motors are different and how to know you really need AN
Harley tuning, Is it really different
DE Is it needed
MLV topics-
VEA in MLV
Using VEAL to your advantage. In the driveway then around the block. Use MLV to see the patterns developing.
MLV to locate issues. Noise, battery voltage…
Set up basic views in MLV, field limits, optional calculated fields and saving views
Introduction to Scatter plots. RPM, MAP and GEGO RPM, MAP and AFR
Introduction to Histograms
Target AFR vs Actual AFR in log view and Scatter Plot view
Creating custom fields
Creating if statements, Nested formulas
Creating filters
Viewing boost control
Viewing detonation in logs
Traction circle and Accelerometers
Field mapping
What to check in a new set of data to see if the tune is on target. Did your changes work out as expected? Are there new issues now?
Filtering traces to make the traces more readable
Where you spend most of your driving time. Using scatter plots to find out
Histograms Tips and tricks. Trail length
Locating timing issues in scatter plots and Histograms based on timing retard.
AE PW vs PW Base DC vs DC Base Engine codes and making sense of all this data
Spotting a Slipping clutch
My favorite filters
Advanced math formulas, math Parcer
Wheel decoder/tooth logger and trouble shooting
Superimposing traces with slightly different variables to highlight issues. (don't remember exactly which ones they were but you superimposed a white trace under a red one to highlight areas that were beyond a desired limit. Fuel flow or injector pw I think.)
Loading other engine logs Motec, HP tuners
Traction circle and plotting it. Filters that really work.
Tablet/phone topics-
Bluetooth COMMs and android gauges
Two ways to connect Shadow Dash Bluetooth and Hardwire
Dedicated dash

Re: Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
+1 on the subscriber list. One piece of (hopefully constructive) criticism is to limit your topic. 10 minutes in you were done with 1st time connect and upload, while the last bit was that first start info. If I was searching for a video on first start, it may not show up and I'd miss all your contributions Thanks for putting it up!

Re: Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
The intent is 15 min max on any one video.
I plan to have video where I put a default Speed Density VE Table into my tune and the start the motor up to show how to get it up to operating temp when you are playing with things, just to keep it running.
My AFR gauge, that normally is Velcroed to the dash, can be located to the inside of the hood. I also have a 32" TV/Monitor that I can include in the shot. I will have to play with all of this stuff to see what makes it easy to follow. I want to make this all similar to what people go thru doing this in their garage the first time.

Re: Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
I am thinking I want to do gauge/sensor verification next or possibly test modes should be next. That is way more fun with all of the sparks flying around.... Fuel pump testing, fan testing and injectors clicking.
What are you guys wanting to see?

Thanks all. I managed to get a Default tune set up to run my car today and get the idle stabilized in under 12 min. It was fun.

Re: Youtube videos, I need people to subscribe
They are a little dry right now as I am still going thru the basics of getting a car to run. They will get better as I get more into tuning and looking at logs, showing how to see what the motor wants.
For me, that is the fun part of tuning.
