does the tooth log look better with the spark plugs removed that way the starter will not be fighting compression

I was thinking about this, but I was too lazy to remove spark plugs today :(
will try this tomorrow
If it will be better, what does this mean?

incorrect tooth #1 you need the strobe light to confirm this really, or possibly incorrectly adjusted vr input circuit. can you see the trigger wheel or is it on the flywheel on that engine?

it is on the flywheel. and crakshaft sensor itself is on the bottom of the gearbox. engine ran fine before I removed stock wiring and DME

if the tooth # 1 is wrong the ecu will be firing the spark at the wrong time though.

You should really be testing on a stim. You'll dramatically lower your feedback loop. I wouldn't test anything on the car until I've verified it on a stim. Tried testing on the car first before I bought a stim and wasted loads of time.

Once you have it working on a stim, thoroughly read the setting up manual (not the hardware manual). Testing with a strobe is covered there.

Also, when using a strobe, I found it helpful to have the ignition advance gauge viewable in TunerStudio. You can set cranking advance to 0 degrees or adjust your strobe if you can.

Here's what I use https://m.harborfreight.com/timing-ligh ... 20provided. Has an adjustable knob for advance.

fired it up today... I removed all spark plugs and adjusted VR conditioner for correct crank sensor signal
After that, engine fired right up.
what should I do next? I mean, which tables and setting must be adjusted?

Probably AFR table, then dial in idle. Then tune analyze live once you have it warmed up.
