I have a 96 jeep 4.0, on ob2 system. It's got a 490 lift cam along with bigger injectors and other things too. my question is what do I need to do to get it tuned right? meaning I have all stock sensors and stock ecu. I would like to just cut the stock ecu out and run something like megasquirt but I also have an auto trans too. "don't know if that matters or not" I was looking at the ms2 and thought it might work for my problem.
any advice would be helpful.

What sort of transmission?
MS2 would need a different crank trigger on this engine. MS3 has native support for the cam and crank triggers. Were you thinking of a solder it yourself kit, or one that's ready to run?

Thanks for posting. I was thinking a solder in kit or a diy kit. "To save a little money" also the jeep has an aw4 trans. It has 3 solenoids two shift and one torque converter lockup.
After I post my first thing I did some more research and seen that the ms3 had the 2000 jeep trigger on it. So probably going with ms3 I want this job to go as easy as possible.

Do you have any notes on the inputs and outputs for this transmission? It may work like a Toyota A340E.

Not really sure what you mean about the inputs and outputs on it but it has a tcm. I can send the wiring diagram to you on the tranny if you'd like.

Update, pulled auto transmission out and went to 5 speed. Still haven't tried my ms3 out. Was wanting to know what all it needed to work. I've read the manual over and over. It says I need a air inlet sensor, along with the other sensors that are already on the jeep. Also was wanting to know if it runs a/c and how to set up for my alternator? My last question is would it be easier to make it a piggy back or a stand alone? Since it's going to be a dd.
