High vs. Low Impedence injectors

Post by Jedrik »

If I am understanding the last month of reading on the board (laugh)...

I am looking at two possible injectors. Same flow, same cost, etc.
One is High impedence, one is Low.

I have the Flyback board installed.

I should buy the low impedence set because it will give me better responce. Yes?

(I hate to buy something and find out a month latter I should have bought the other one.)

RPM range and flow volume vs. actual need should be considered. If the injectors you plan to install are much larger than what the engine needs during normal driving then the low impedance injector may give you better low speed control since opening times are shorter. This may be the case in a small displacement boosted application. If you aren't running really high rpm and the engine isn't boosted then there really isn't a need for the low impedance injector if the same volume is available in a high impedance injector assuming you were realistic in your volume prediction. There will be less stress on your MegaSquirt.
