EGO Settings

Post by Mad Professor »

Hi All.

Can someone please have a quick look over my EGO settings and say if that look ok to you.

I am running MS1 Extra 029t, version 3 PCB.

EGO Sensor Type: Wideband.
EGO Switch Point (v): 2.350.
Ignition Events or msec per Step: 16.
Controller Step Size (%): 1.
Controller Authority +/- (%): 15.
Active Above Coolant Temp (C) 70.
Active Above RPM (RPM): 1000.
EGO Correction Step Counter: mSec.

I am running LC1 & XD1, LC1 set to 10-20AFR 0-5v.

I ask as MT & XD1 AFR are bouncing from 10-20.

Thanks for your time.

I was also having this same problem on settings. I got it to slow down by going to a longer time interval.

How far away from the engine exhaust flange is your O2 sensor? The further away the more time you will need to keep the swings down. Its like a built in lag on the closed loop. Right now I have mine set almost the same as yours except for the events. Mine is set for 60 ign pulses, I have tried to go lower but then I see the O2 corrections going from 85 to 115.

It will never completely stop swinging with MS I, from what I have been told and what I have seen. The processor is just not fast enough. MS2 is able to keep it steady once set up right, I have been told I haven't tried a MS2 yet. Its on my wish list. LOL

You may also want to bump the rpm turn on up some, you probably don't want the O2 messing with your idle if it gets up into that range. Mine is set to 1400 rpm and 140 degrees F, step size 1 and authority 15%.

You have set up you Targets, haven't you? Just checking.

I am running the same code 29T on a 91 corolla 4-door with a 4AGE ST 20V. Its my daily driver and has been for about the last three months.

hope this helps, later wd

Hi there,
I have an LC1 and my ego values dont swing. If your ego is swinging its not down to the processor being slow, in fact the processors cycle time the last time I timed it was 1.2mS, thats plenty quick enough, its down to the ignition events per steps, Id increase it to 25-30 and see what happens
