USB adapter and MT resets.....

Hey gang,
I picked up one of the USB/Serial adapters that Jerry at DIYAutotune sells and it works pretty well. However, compared to the old Win98 system that had a serial port, this XP notebook using the adapter suffers alot of resets. It doesnt' really seem to effect anything, only a nanosecond of craziness aparent in the datalogs, but I thought I'd ask if there's anything I can do....all FIFOs are set to zero.......
