MegaTune Locks up on ECU reset

MegaTune p3
v3.57 board
Dell PIII Laptop
Windows XP SP2 (all updates)
9pin serial cable

MegaTune was working perfectly for me until about a day or so ago... now every time the MS unit resets MT locks up. I've tried checking ports (port check says "connected OK"), port settings (all set to what is defined in the MegaTune manual), power management settings (does it in battery mode and on AC), cable connection, re-MSQ, re-flash... nada

complete MT uninstall (including INIs), and reinstall... complete Reflash including boot code. checked and triple checked connection settings... still locks up on every ECU reset.

enabling debug, this is what I find at the end of the log where I turn the ECU back on... its a complete data set, but its like MegaTune doesn't know what to do and freezes

some interesting things....

If I launch MT before turning on the ECU, turn on the ECU, MT does NOT lockup...
if MT is monitoring when the ECU is turned off then back on, it locks up.

If I go "Offline", disconnect the cable, close the application, etc. I can reset the ECU and reconnect with no issue on app launch or go off of "Offline". I can disconnect and reconnect the cable over and over and no problem.

OMFG! of all things unholly... its Microsoft's Accessibility Options. I had turned on a few options to make using my laptop a little more user friendly (dang small keyboards)... turned off ALL Accessibility features and disabled their ability to be turned on... all functionality with Megatune and handling Resets is back to normal
