Code mismatch

Questions specific to Megatune. (Only about the tuning software, not about MS1/MS2 code or code features)
Note that Megatune is obsolete.

Code mismatch

Post by waxenwane »

My Megasquirt Laptop died, so I have pressed another into use. The problem is that no matter what I do I can not get it to load the correct .ini file. The Lappy is a Toshiba running a 1.7ghz cpu and XP.
Just for experiments sake I have loaded 2 desktops and another laptop with Megatune (same version p3) and have had no issues. What am I doing wrong? I have even copy and pasted the whole Megasquirt directory from one computer to another. Initially I had thought it was because I started using a serial to usb converter, but the problem is only on the Toshiba, the fact that there is an error message about versions not being found suggests that there is communication??

That was quick!

Controller code version does not match signature in MSnS-extra.ini.
(see audit.log for where the above file was found.)

Expected "MSnS.extra format 029q*********"(found in ini file)
Received "0x53" (from controller)

Table corruption etc etc...

It looks like you are getting a serial loop back command.
What type of a serial connection are you using?
Are you sure you have the right com port?

I wont pretend to understand what a loopback command is........But you gave me a good hint, even though I had configured Megatune to look for com3 the laptops usb controller was com10............little bit of editing.

Thankyou very much :D

I don't _think_ that Megatune supports COM ports that high. You probably need to use device manager to change the USB-serial to be a lower number, such as COM3
