Problem loading msq's from Megatune.
Problem loading msq's from Megatune.
Having an odd problem loading msq's from megatune into the controller. It seems to be burning ok but then throws up an error saying "page 12: could not connect to controller", same with page 13. It was intermittent initially, but now seems to be a hard fault, always with just these two pages.
At this point the controller appears to crash with the fuel pump running permanently, but on power cycling and checking with megatune, appears to have loaded the msq ok. Otherwise it seems to communicate with the controller quite normally.
So far I've tried:-
Different serial lead,
Checked for any bad joints around the MAX232 chip,
Reloading the firmware and the related megatune,
..all to no avail. Was going to try replacing the MAX232, but it seems odd that it otherwise communicates quite normally. Any ideas?
Thanks, Geoff.

What firmware?
Sounds like you might have some debug pages enabled that you don't want cause Megatune to send data to areas of memory it shouldn't be writing to.

My firmware is msns-e hr-10g.
Sorry to seem thick, but where would I check for these debug pages?

Re: Problem loading msq's from Megatune.
Just to update with this, have now tried loading msq's from a different computer and the problem persists, which seems to indicate that the fault lies within the software/hardware of the ms controller. Have now replaced the MAX232 chip on the ms - no joy.
Was wondering as the issue is always with the same two pages, could this be some problem within the processor itself? Or possibly relating to the debug pages that James referred to...?
Seems to be ok with Tuner Studio, except that it reports a couple of 'units mismatches', but otherwise burns msq's ok- not sure if this is relevant to the problem or not.
Starting to run out of ideas now so any suggestions would be most welcome....

Re: Problem loading msq's from Megatune.
Trust me, it has nothing to do with the Megasquirt hardware. It is purely a software setting at the PC end.
Also, as TunerStudio works ok, just stop using Megatune. Problem solved.

Re: Problem loading msq's from Megatune.
Don't worry about that. The normal ini had a couple of incorrect unit values fore AE parameters in it that are never displayed in MegaTune so no one cared, but they do get saved to the msq.'units mismatches'
In TunerStudio I corrected the units because they are displayed, but that causes a units mismatch warning when loading an msq saved with the old ini.
So any msq's you save in TS from this point won't cause that.

Ahh...thanks Phil, I was beginning to suspect every error message as a symptom of my 'fault'. Looks like you've gained a convert to TS anyway, I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen so far......
