hi,
i simply don't get the idea behind the multiple projects in mt. up to now, all issues have been solved by the search function here but now it seems that i have black spot in configuring mt. but as this is my first post here, first things first:
i'm working on two projects right now. one is my own triumph tr6, currently running with megajolt/edis. the car is on webers and i'd like to convert it to MS2 extra on a v2.2 board, ignition only to start with. the hardware is already complete. second project is an opel/vauxhall b manta with C20XE engine, has webers too and we need the MS1 extra on a v2.2 board running soon. same again, once the ignition is running, the fuel system in the car will be modified back to injection.
now i struggle around with different setups in mt and any help would be appreciated.
regarding to the projects in mt, is it correct that if the msns-extra.ini/megasquirt-ii.ini is placed in the ...project\mtcfg folder, mt will ignore the ini file from the ...megaTune2.25/mtCfg folder? moreover, what should the code variant variable set to when using the current
- ms1 extra code
- ms2 extra code
- ms1 hr code?
just set MSNS_EXTRA for all variants or depending on the cpu set MS_I or set MS_II?
thx. for any help!!

You might find life a lot easier with TunerStudio, the project setup is greatly improved over the old "Megatune Configurator"
But in answer to your question, yes, putting the ini files directly into the project/mtcfg folder will ensure that ini file is used by the project.
For MS2/Extra set "Megasquirt 2" for MS1/Extra and MS1/Extra-hires set "MSNS_EXTRA"

I can repair or upgrade Megasquirts in UK. http://www.jamesmurrayengineering.co.uk

thx. for your help! i'll be back in the workshop this afternoon and give it a try.
already have the registered ts version on the new notebook but i'm waiting for the usb/rs232 converter. while this i'd like to understand the philosophy and have the issues solved with the old (serial) notebook.
cheers,
harry
