set up using cam driven 36-1
set up using cam driven 36-1
Hello,
I'm looking at setting up my 1986 Citroen CX GTI turbo to run on megasquirt. sorry if I sound like a 16 year old newbe 'more a 47 year old' I would like to know if it is possible to trigger the unit from the camshaft using a 36-1 trigger wheel. I'd prefer not to take the engine out again... there's no crank pulley on these engines so it would mean having the flywheel drilled to a 60-2
currently the engine runs 2 sets of std injectors 'basically two injection sets' but I was looking to refine the engine management.
I have the trigger wheel all ready in place and really looking for re assuance it should work... and how to go about it please.

Sure, this isn't too hard to do - what firmware are you running?

Well where did those two years go? I have 3.2.1 firmware and the cam trigger in place now.
This is still new to me and I have only connected it to the car to test if the signal from the trigger is working... there is a signal but in latest version of TS it only shows half the rpm the engine is running at.
I have the project set up to run cam driven toothed wheel 36-1 and wasted spark as my intention, was to run this through the MSD ignition already on the car.
Is there something else I'm missing please?
cheers

Could you post a copy of your MSQ? I'd like to check the settings first.

Just a thought, what speed did you set the trigger wheel in TS (Ignition Options Wheel/Decoder). As your wheel is driven from the cam, if you set it at "çrank" then it would show at 1/2 crank speed. Set it to Cam.
Triumph TR3A. MS3X, IBT, Fully Sequential Injection, Wasted spark, 60-2 crank wheel.

sorted the signals out, it all works fine now after downloading the latest firmware... this is a long project
