com port quit

Hi

I had megatune working but sometimes the screen would flash and sometimes it would show a reset. This would happen with key on, engine not running.

I down loaded the current version of megatune and now I can't get any com port to be recognized. I'm using the same computer, same usb to serial converter (dynex from radio shack) and serial cable.
The laptop has windows XP. I can't find a way to assign or check setting for usb ports in XP

any help is appreciated.

Go to my computer, then right click and hit "manage" click on "device manager" a list will come up and if the USB to serial is plugged in then COM ports should show up in the list, click on it and it should show the port number.
