Hi Hoodey,

What i am saying is please revisit you pricing and see if any adjustment can be made,
go for volume of sales would be my advice to you because i would say that this is the only thing missing from
MS at this moment,thanks

you could also offer the scematics and buy a processor from you pre programed.

or even a partial kit.

these would help with price and your work load hoody.

So Knock Gaurd Lite will have one output to MS to trigger timing retard across the entire ignition system when knock is detected. You mentioned something about eventually having 8. Am I to understand that it will be able to trim the timing for individual cylinders?

Guys don't forget Knock Guard Lite is actually a full blown knock detection system.
Remove it from the MS power it with five volts and bingo you have a standalone detection system.
During the Development I have been bouncing ideas off of John at J & S safe guard.

The last three weeks I ensured that almost all of the features were programmable from the Windows GUI as unlike the
Knock Guard the Lite has no keypad or LCD screen. I have been testing this device extensivley in a real world for more than six
months know.

Apologies for offending anyone but I was trying to find something MS related to compare.

Documentation almost completed and I will agree on a price shortly.

Summary of functions.

Two analog Output channels(proportional to knock).
One Ground Reference and One Differential knock input.
Pulsed Output for MS
Knock Indicator LED
RPM pickup from MS or IGT pulses and LED light
Cam Reference Input ( Andvance Knock Detection )
Crank position Input (Advance Knock Detection)
Gui Monitors/Programmes device.
Dumb Mode,Variable Sensitivity Mode,Windowing Mode (Advance Knock Detection - On going Development)
Knock Count - Out of sparks fired what percentage detonated. (Future Development)

Using stimulator to test rpm pickup for variable sensitivity.

So will unit works with any kind of knock sensor.

what about the tuning software , will there be a tuning table available so we can see what rpm and load site that knock accord and pull timing from that area. :RTFM:

It can be interfaced to any knock sensor.

Interested in the Knock Guard Lite Kit, too - I'm about to fit my MS2 DIY PnP to my car, and am definitely keen for some sort of knock detection as I'm converting from NA to F.I, and need all the help I can get with the fuelling...(!)

Hopefully this board would fit in the PnP box? (I'm pretty new to all things MS!)

Very interested in this. What sort of cam / crank signals does it work with? All sensors that are supported by ms2Extra?

The system piggybacks on the MS.

Dumb Mode ----Knock Sensor Only ---- Insensitive Maximum Knock , Don't know which cylinder is knocking,no rpm , No ignition information
Varaible Sensitivity ----Knock Sensor /Igt ---- Increase sensitiviy at low rpm ,decrease at higher rpm, RPM information
Advance Windowing ---- Knock Sensor/Crank/cam ---- Increase sensitiviy at low rpm ,decrease at higher rpm, RPM information, Ignition Information, Cylinder Knocking, Knock count

I'm going to pass. Price is a bit high to jump in blindly. If this works with any knock sensor, then what frequency does it listen at? Isn't freq of knock engine dependent?

That’s a quick turnaround time for knock count. Within the knock window I’m accounting for frequency and magnitude (peak/burst) every ~40 kHz. ((Including clearing/reading interrupts for IC) and when (ADC data is ready) only active in knock window) How did you end up going about it? What’s the highest rpm you tested without jitter per different wheel?

*EDIT: So my board and many other pieces came in today after 10 years waiting for them. The board was quite easy to make...there is a 23K256 SRAM chip on board.

What information do you need from a 4g63 knock sensor to see what it needs to be set at? I will look it up in the service manual
