Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
here is the info I got out of the FSM.
Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
maximuscr31 many thanks....
Looks pretty easy to code..
One cam pulse is bigger than the other. That can be used as the synch pulse.
I believe the falling edge of the crank pulse is 5dtdc. Ignition timing can be determined. Rpm can be determined from crank pulses.
KNock Window can determined with some extra hardware as position information is not as fine
as Nissan or Bosch 60-2.

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
You start coding it then. Next week when I get paid I will be sending you money for my box.

Here is the waveforms

if you are good with this I can send payment tomorrow.

Has anyone gotten one these yet and put it to use? I would rather not be guinny pig #1

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
GUI New Layout.
I wrote a program simulate the evo signal (Aka my own Stimulator).
It simulates and engine running at 1000rpm and firing at 75 degrees BTDC.
If the interrupt routine functions properly these values will be displayed on the GUI.
Stay tuned.

Modified to synch based on pulse widths.

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
I am not sure. The ones I posted are for a 1g dsm 90-94/ evo 1-3
They use a cam sensor for crank/cam and is different than a 95-99/evo4-9 as they have a crank sensor and a cam sensor. Also the 95-97 cam angle sensor firing order is the same as the 90-94 but if you put a 90-94 cas in your 97-99 you have to swap the plug order

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
Pretty much finished with this application .Seems to work for Miatas as well.
Alternative style guage now included.

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
So what all are you adding w/ the new ports on the board? Are you going full on after J+S safeguard? It'd be pretty awesome if it could pull timing like they do, but seemingly a big jump in complexity from what you already have.
I have a turbo miata, and I know that a lot of other turbo miata people would be very interested in such a product.

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
There is already funtionality built in to retard timing provided the application does not use all of the Pic onboard timers.
Additional the Megasquirt can take care of ignition retard during knock.
The four Igt outputs if needed can take the igt signal from a distributor setup and generate 4 for indvidual coil igt pulses.
