How can I Enable the Diagnostic tool

Post by juansh2385 »

Hi phil, I am having problems with the diagnostic tab. I am using an experimental code 3.1.1V14(mariob) and I notice that since I flash the ecu and use the adequate inin file, The tab of the diagnostic tool is gray out and I can not us it. I really like the experimental code that I am using It is posible to enable it so i dont lose this feature in my registered version of TS?

The enable status of that is based on the signature as the function is tightly coupled to the firmware capability. If your code is based on ms2 extra it would work, but the signature needs to represent it as some form of ms2 extra.
The association is compiled in, you can not edit a file.
Where is this code and ini?

The serial Signature is:
MS2Extra 311 mb_v12

It needs to start with these to be identified as MS2e 3.x in TS 1.004:
MS2Extra Rel 3
MS2Extra Serial
MS2Extra serial

For future I can add the pattern "MS2Extra 3" in the next beta to support as it is..

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. Either who ever owns the code needs to change the signature, or you have to wait for a beta TS that recognizes the new signature.

sorry to bring this back. I think ts beta 19 is not recognizing 3.2.1 gslender v5 again.

Is the solution the same as before?

Why don't you only use MS2E? that will enable them to do whatever character after that.
Just suggesting.

Or require newer firmwares to configure/enable the loggers through the ini file.

I think ts beta 19 is not recognizing 3.2.1 gslender v5 again.
It has not changed. Is there a new version of this with a new signature?
Why don't you only use MS2E?
The available loggers has been steady for a while, but did change with versions. Currently all it needs is to start with:
"MS2Extra 3" and it is good... That seems easy enough and TS knows it is version 3 or better.

James' suggestion is really the the right one, but there haven't been too many other firmwares other than this one to drive the need. Compiling the signature match in also helps prevent theft of the firmware where people recompile the firmware with their own signature and call it their own.
