vss signal
can the ms3 use a 12v signal as vss? im hoping to use the abs sensor on the tranny output shaft and it uses 12v and i thought the megasquirt used 5v for vss but not completely sure.

Re: vss signal
A number of the possible inputs are 12V safe.

Re: vss signal
oh so it doesnt have to be a certain sensor type? just the right number of teeth in the settings page? that seems easy. thanks for the reply!

Re: vss signal
It depends...
A 0-5V or 0-12V signal will be fine.
A VR sensor needs a conditioner circuit.

Re: vss signal
On the r154 transmission its a hall sensor 0-12v. Which input would you connect it to?? Is it okay to share this hall sensor with the abs???
Re: vss signal
i was thinking the nitrous in because i dont use nos and its 12 input, i dont think it would affect the abs... and ive seen other people on supramania use this sensor with other standalones and boost controllers that have speed based boost control. if not there is another sensor behind the speedometer that runs off the speedometer cable. i think its 12v as well thoughquark2501 wrote:On the r154 transmission its a hall sensor 0-12v. Re: vss signal
well here is the wiring for the dash speed sensor. it looks like it is grounded on one side and the signal on the other, does that make it a vr sensor? or something else?
Re: vss signal
I'm using the nitrous input for vss and using a +12v signal with an autometer sensor on the side of a turbo400. Works really well!

Re: vss signal
Would a sensor like this work? Could it be wired up without using up my Nitrous controls as I may use those later?

Yes, it'll work. That is what i'm using on my MS3X install (turbo 400 sensor - #5291) and its fine. I can't remember if i'm using the Nitrous pullup or not on the MS3X card, I think I am. But you'll soon know either way once you turn the sensor by hand and whether you get VSS in Tuner Studio.

Re: vss signal
I installed it and put it on the Launch input and it works great. I have it wired for 12v.Blue93Dakota wrote:Would a sensor like this work? Could it be wired up without using up my Nitrous controls as I may use those later?
