Hi I need a bit of help with the orienation of U3, theres no notch on the chip to correspond with the notch on the board,

Is there a dot? That indicates pin 1.
Also if you look at the chip with the writing the correct way up, pin 1 should be bottom left.

ok so the dot goes the same end as the notch or the dot goes the opposite end?

onto other issues... ive gone and soldered U4 where U7 should go
taking it real slow steady with the heat trying to use the solder sucker on it

yeah maybe... hindsight and all that
