Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
If I switch to the firefly, I loose about 1 read/sec. I would be the rest is related to the Android 2.3, as both of mine are 2.2 and that is what I have tuned the timings to. I really should get a 2.3 device going here.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
HTC Hero (CDMA/Sprint version) is a Oct 2009 vintage phone with pretty low specs by todays standards.
Single core 528MHz ARM11, Adreno 130 GPU, 288M RAM, 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches (~180 ppi pixel density)
Takes up to a 32G class 10 microSD.
It was a "hot" phone when new. common as salt.
It shipped with Eclair, but is well supported by Cyanogen and other modders and is running Cyanogenmod 7.1//Android 2.37
I'm using a <$50 US converters BT-232 (class1) with internal antenna, i get ~11-12 hz with my 5+ year old laptop on MS2-3.20 Alpha.
Dongle is on the end of a 6' serial cable.
Range is well over 100 feet with the class1 dongle in my laptop, only tested it that far.
It's ~50 feet with the phone, but that's fine.
It makes for an excellent datalogger.
The Hero can also be had for $50-80 in working shape, but the USB ports are a lame design.
I would only cry for the microSD if I lost it/dropped it etc.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Strangely, it was doing 10-12 hz logs this morning when I looked.
I have no idea what changed.

That looks pretty cool, but it is hard to tell. They don't say what version of Android is on it, or if you can install your own apps.angus99 wrote:Just found this via google. Parrot Asteroid Android powered car radio. Any ideas if the will run shodow logger?

If it is Android 2.1 or higher, has Bluetooth and lets you install your own apps, it should work.

You can't change them in this release, but a real dash is coming.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Hi guys,
I have set up my Bluetooth adaptor and it seems to be working well. I did my first test datalog which has saved as an FRD file. I attempted to convert it using tunerstudio 1.20 beta, but it is saying the signatures do not match. My project signature is "MSExtra Rel 2.1.0p" and it is saying the FRD file is "MS2". The firmware on the Megasquirt 2 is 2.1.0p and matches the TS project just fine, is there a reason why this is happening and what can I do to resolve it. I'm a bit lost.
Cheers,
Ben.
PS. I can't wait for full dashboard and tuning interface on droid

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
There are 2 ways to convert the FRD into a normal msl.
1) Let Shadow Logger Upload it to ShadowTuner.com: ShadowTuner.com will convert it to a normal msl log file. You will need to upload an msq from your PC too.
2) TunerStudio can transform it as well. From the main menu:
Data Logging --> "Import / Conversion" --> "Convert Binary Log (MS3, FRD)"
That will turn it into a normal log also...
One important note. If you are logging Accelerometer Fields, you must use either ShadowTuner.com or the beta TunerStudio 1.18 or higher. TunerStudio 1.004 does not know how to handle those.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Thanks Phil, I amended my post just as you made your post sorry. I worked out how to convert the log, but I am experiencing the difficulties as above. I'm not logging accelerometer data at this stage. Keeping it plain and simple for now. Although I did try to upload an msq from my pc to shadowtuner.com and it tells me I have insufficient access rights.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Thanks Phil,
I am able to upload my .msq now but it doesn't seem to want to let me upload my ini (Ecu definition). While I'm not entirely sure which file this is (I think it's megasquirt-ii.ini but I'm not sure), it doesn't seem to accept anything I throw at it. Also, I'm not able to download my logs from shadowtuner.com. It says that I do not have read access to to projectid:
Also, is there a way to get around the "MS2" signature issue I'm having with the log? I've got a feeling shadowtuner.com might be having the same difficulties interpreting/converting the log as TunerStudio based on the signature mismatch.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
What firmware are you using?
Most of the common ini files should already be on the server.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Sure thing.
This is the error I receive when trying to convert the FRD log file using tunerstudio beta 1.20
This is what the project setup page looks like on shadowtuner.com. It says the definition file cannot be found.
Does that help clarify? Let me know if there is any other scraps of information that will help.

Re: Shadow Logger MS 1.02 Released
Yes... It looks like that FRD does not have a complete signature. It seems to be truncated.
When you connect with Shadow Logger, does the displayed signature seem complete? Is it sometimes truncated?
Try to capture a new Log File.
